Education is a fundamental human right. Since September 2021, Afghan girls have been banned from secondary and higher education. By March 2025, approximately 2.2 million girls were denied this right.
The Data for Freedom initiative empowers affected women and girls by providing data literacy and visualization skills. Through this program, participants will learn how to clean, analyze, and visualize data—creating opportunities for self-reliance, informed decision-making, and advocacy.
This program is designed to empower young Afghan women by providing them with the tools and knowledge to become informed and active participants in their society. By focusing on data analysis and technology, the program aims to break the barriers imposed on them in terms of education and professional opportunities. Participants will not only gain technical skills but also become part of a supportive network that fosters collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous growth.
